Ink Pine Cone

The inked pine cone project was a very enjoyable one. To start the project, I had to acquire sticks, leaves, and pinecones from outdoors. Once I found the materials I wanted I got them set up in a position that appealed most to me. When I got my model set up, I went through and did a light render of the model with a 4H sketching pencil. After I finished the light render I started to ink. I used black Indian ink and a quill to do this piece. Using only the lightest drops of ink, I rendered out as realistically as I could. My goal was to achieve the life like look by rendering the lightest of lights and darkest of darks with the ink.
During the time that I added ink to the paper, I did scrapes and splatters to capture the realistic qualities in the wood and leaves. This was to give the picture the feel as if there was actual texture in the bark and the leaves.
